The wine’s quality comes from a favourable varried soil - clay-siliceous on the plateau of Guillac and clay-chalk on the hill-sides of Grézillac - as well as ancient methods of farming. |

| Without the use of chemical fertilizers and herbicides, the wine is treated with manure, seaweed, guano, vine-shoots, green manure and a maximum of humus. Every second row of the vineyard is planted with grasses whereby the planting is effected on alternate rows from year to year. |
